Clare isn't just a yoga teacher running courses — she is one of a small number of people in the UK formally authorised by the British Wheel of Yoga to train and qualify other yoga teachers to BWY Diploma level.
Her 2023 MA in Yoga & Meditation from SOAS University, her 25+ years of teaching, and her postgraduate education qualification mean that students learning with Clare are receiving an extraordinary standard of yoga education.
The Programmes
From your first steps into yoga teaching through to the full BWY Diploma — Clare offers the complete BWY pathway.
The starting point for anyone drawn to yoga teaching. The Foundation Course deepens your personal practice, introduces you to yoga's history and philosophy, and helps you explore whether teacher training is the right next step for you. No previous teaching experience required.
A full 21-month accredited teacher training at Level 4, verified by both BWY and OFQUAL. One Sunday per month in Esher, with five sessions via Zoom. A rigorous, comprehensive course taught by Clare alongside 14 specialist tutors — including nurses, Sanskrit scholars, ayurveda practitioners, and philosophy specialists.
The most comprehensive BWY qualification available — and the same diploma Clare holds as a tutor. For those who want to teach at the deepest level, and who may eventually wish to train others. The BWY Diploma is the gold standard of yoga teacher training in the UK. This is for those who are serious about yoga as a vocation.
As a BWY Diploma Course Tutor, Clare has been formally authorised by the British Wheel of Yoga to train and qualify other yoga teachers. She also serves on the BWY training committee as Short Courses Officer.
What distinguishes Clare as a tutor is the breadth and depth of her knowledge: academic, experiential, therapeutic, and philosophical. Students don't just learn how to teach yoga poses — they learn to understand yoga.
